Summits and Conferences Current Affairs Questions
200 questions with answers and explanations in this section. Last updated 2026-10-01 by the axomexam team.
Summits and conferences is a well-defined section built around a simple set of facts: who hosted, which countries took part, what was agreed, and where the next summit will be held. The questions are direct and the list of major summits is short, so this is an efficient topic to prepare.
Axomexam records each summit with its host country or city, the participating group and the main outcome, and links it to the international affairs section so that the same event is not revised from two different places.
The summits that are asked most
- G20 and the G7 summits, with their host countries and themes.
- BRICS, SCO and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meetings.
- SAARC, BIMSTEC and ASEAN summits relevant to India and the North-East.
- United Nations General Assembly sessions and climate conferences.
- Bilateral summits between India and major powers.
- Special summits such as the Voice of the Global South and the East Asia Summit.
Host, theme and outcome are the three keys
Almost every summit question can be answered from three facts. The host is asked as country or city, the theme or agenda is asked for the current year, and the outcome is asked as an agreement, a declaration or a joint statement. If you note these three for every major summit, the section is fully covered. When India hosts a summit, the host city and the Sherpa or chairperson are also worth noting.
Preparation tips for summits
- Make a table of summit name, host, year and main outcome.
- Learn the member countries of the major groupings at a glance.
- Note the theme of the current year for the largest summits.
- For bilateral summits, record the two countries and the agreements signed.
- Link each summit to the international affairs section so revision overlaps.
- Attempt the set after major summit months, as the facts change through the year.
