Assam Police Syllabus and Exam Pattern (SLPRB)
The Assam Police recruitment is conducted by the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam. The board recruits candidates for posts such as Constable (Unarmed Branch and Armed Branch), Sub-Inspector (UB and AB), Driver, and other technical and ministerial posts. The selection is based on a written examination followed by physical tests and medical verification. This page explains the complete syllabus, exam pattern, physical standards and a subject-wise preparation plan for the Assam Police examination.
The syllabus below is prepared from the pattern generally followed by SLPRB. The exact number of questions, marks, negative marking and qualifying physical standards can change with every notification, so always cross-check the details in the official advertisement before you start preparing.

How to prepare for the Assam Police examination
- Start with the syllabus, not with books: note the subjects and weightage, then divide them into weekly targets.
- Build arithmetic speed: practise at least 20–30 mathematics questions daily and maintain a formula register.
- Practise reasoning daily: reasoning scores improve quickly with regular short practice sessions.
- Revise Assam-specific topics: state history, geography and culture are scoring and frequently repeated.
- Follow current affairs: keep short notes of the last six to eight months.
- Attempt mock tests: solve timed papers on axomexam to improve accuracy before speed and to identify weak areas.
- Stay physically fit: begin running and physical training early, since the PET and medical stages are qualifying in nature.
